Brief History: Nikolai Aleksandrovich Yevtushenko is many things to many people. In society, he's known as the dilettante adopted son of the wealthy bureaucrat Aleksandr Feodorovich Yevtushenko; in the world of academia, he's known as a broad-ranging scholar of art history and the occult, holding Master's degrees in ancient history, linguistics, and classical art. In the esoteric field of demonology, he's become recognized as an authority of Devils in history and ritual, including their identification, confinement and banishment.

To the Devil World, however, he's known as the runaway Phantom Killer, host of the Nightmare Symbiote, the Black Renegade who had been raised as their soldier to replace the fallen Nelo Angelo. His mother, a succubus, snatched him from their grasp when he was still a child, and hid with him in Eastern Europe. Despite her best efforts to make them secure and inconspicuous, however, she was killed, and now Nikolai seeks the means for revenge while keeping his true identity under wraps.
